I reload 20, 28 and .410.

It is almost break even on the 20 but you save a ton on 28 and .410.

I have a MEC 9000G for the 20 and .410 and a mec 650 progressive for the 28. Only difference is the autoindexing and the 9000G resizes you shells. If you shoot the shells in the same gun like I do that does not matter.

If you have any specific questions let me know.

I did some math for you last night.

This does not take into account the cost of the reloader or the hull.

20ga Cost $4.68 compared to about $6.50 new.

28ga $4.35 New $11.00

.410 $3.70 New $12.00

As I mentioned earlier I do not load 12 ga but it would be in the upper $5 range per box.

Thanks Bulldog ducker.
I have a buddy that used to reload giving me his press since he no longer has time. Do you find reloading helps improve your accuracy as well or just the wallet.

Wallet...

In the middle of skeet season I shoot about a case of 28 ga a week. This season I have just about gone through 3k primers so it has saved me a ton. I shoot new shells in our tournaments and use those hulls to reload for practice.

20ga powders are hard to find right now. You can come upon some 28ga powders and .410 has been pretty easy for me to find.

Lead is the thing that has really decreased the savings for reloading. it is up to 38-42$ a bag depending. Bass pro had it for 49.99 when I was in there Sunday.

I've always wondered:

If you reload you're own steel shot into casings that don't say "STEEL" on them, how does a GW know if its really steel shot?
