south gone rise again
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.

Re: south gone rise again
JACKSON, Miss. -- The University of Mississippi has shortened one of its fight songs to discourage football fans from chanting "the South will rise again" during part of the tune, which critics say is an offensive reminder of the region's intolerant past.
However, some fans have continued to recite the chant at the end of the song, "From Dixie With Love," despite the change made last week
Earlier this month, the Ole Miss student government passed a resolution suggesting the chant be replaced by the phrase, "To hell with LSU."

I like the LSU chant better.
Sounds just like what the Cajuns chant at Tiger stadium!!

!
Supposedly we are all racists!
Re: south gone rise again
I guess they wont be happy until all the school's tradition is gone, including the name of the school.
Re: south gone rise again
This kind of crap isn't worth wasting time being offended over. Just like the Central Michigan Chippewas having to change their mascot to the "flying C's"...wft? The only tradition that seems to be safe in this country is the tradition of supporting the b.s. interest of a few and ignoring the common wants and wishes of the majority.

Re: south gone rise again
All that did was rile up the student body, I have never heard "The south will rise again" louder than today.
BE STILL, HERE THEY COME, BE STILL!!!!!!!!!!!
"Yeah, I got TP..........2 dollars a square"

Re: south gone rise again
The funny thing about this whole situation is a few days after they ban the chant and black fellow write in the university paper that it was simply a chant and tradition. He said that too many people get there feelings hurt over spilled milk and it was just a tradition. He also said sometimes he feels compelled to chant along too. AND HE WAS BLACK

You have lost your identity.
This is going to happen slowly, and nobody will stop it.
I so hate to see this. The University president (not a southerner) cares not a lick for dear old traditions. He is concerned with grubbing money and being like those so-called public ivy league schools.
For now it is "south's gonna rise again."
In a few years, you'll be the Ole' Miss "racers" or "ramblers" if you don't put your foot down and stop this PC nonsense...
