Would State have to find Shea's older brother a job first?

It is sense, not since, but that is okay.

Congratulations to State and their win of the Egg Bowl. You all had the better team this year, no doubt, although two Mississippi teams pulling up the bottom of the SEC West does not sit well with me. Both teams are terrible!

As for Patterson leaving UM to go to MSU to get "coached by one hell of a QB coach", I don't see it. Fitzgerald lead your team to a 5-7 losing record. He has been with the program at MSU for three years. Shae Patterson has been in UM's program for less than a year and lit up MSU for 380 yards and two touchdowns. I am not saying Shae Patterson is the next great thing at UM, because the verdict is yet to be seen; there just isn't enough play for me to make a decision on him yet. But I am encouraged.

Fitzgerald:
Eff 126.7, 183-335-10 (Comp-Att-Int), 54.6%, 190.6 yards average per game

Patterson
Eff 121.00, 72-132-3 (Comp-Att-Int), 54.5%, 293.3 yards average per game

It was UM's defense, not QB play that killed our season. I have complained for years now that Freeze is an outstanding recruiter, but I do not feel that he makes the appropriate changes throughout our games as the other team adapts to our game. A true leader adapts, even if he/she makes the wrong decision up front, you adapt and progress, and makes changes as necessary throughout the process until completion.

Correction. Benjamin Franklin has been a good recruiter...

Yeah. There's an NOA that suggests his recruiting ain't all that it appears. And strong rumors of another.

Fitz is still just a sophomore in his first season as a starter, with an equally horrible defense and no credible HB threat until Mullen FINALLY began to play Williams. I'm not a huge Mullen guy and criticize him relentlessly, but when it comes to coaching QB's, I have to give credit where it's due- in my opinion he's one of the best. He made Chris Friggin' Relf a serviceable QB for crying out loud. As for Fitz, he was a 2 or 3 star recruit from a triple option system with one other offer from UT Chattanooga and barring injury, he will be one of the league's best in the next two years.

Fitz did not start playing QB until his senior yr of HS.. Prescott was recruited by LSU as tight end, nobody wanted him as a QB… Mullen has an amazing ability to pick out QB potential and improve it… Thats the point I was trying to make… And thanks for catching and correcting my horrible grammar :)

I question a lot of things Mullen does but you can not argue with his QB development skills. Patterson was an all world recruit and Fitzgerald was a wishbone guy in highschool. Dak was not a big recruit at all and as stated above Chris Relf was developed into a serviceable QB and he could not hit the broadside of a barn at one point. Look back at UM QBs I don't really recall seeing any improvement in Wallace or Kelly year to year, but Kelly did have one heck of a season last year. Pretty much everybody lit up states defense through the air including Jalen Hurts who is also a true freshman and not a prolific passer by any means.
