(Yearly) Way Too Early 2016 SEC Prediction Thread
SECe:
(1) UTenn (10-2) - They are the most talented team in the East and one of the most talented in the conference;
(2) UF (8-4)- If they can get decent QB play, they limp into 2nd;
(3) UGA (8-4) - Based on talent alone;
(4) USCe (7-5)
(5) Mizzou (6-6)
(6) UK (6-6)
(7) Vandy (4-8)
SECw:
(1) Ole Miss (11-1) They beat Bama again and win the tie-break and finally go to Atlanta - Saban turns them in to NCAA
(2) Bama (11-1)
(3) LSU (9-3) Miles does enough to keep his job again, loses to Bama, Ole Miss and Wisconsin
(4) Arkansas - 8-4
(5) Texas A&M - 7-5 Swagcopter is shown the door - Chip Kelly hired as his replacement
(6) Auburn - 7-5 Malzahn is shown the door, Ed Herman hired as his replacement
(7) MSU - 6-6 QB struggles doom the season.
UTenn v OM in Atlanta...OM wins.
Playoff:
Ole Miss, Clemson, Michigan and Stanford
Ole Miss loses to Michigan in the title game.

Re: (Yearly) Way Too Early 2016 SEC Prediction Thread
I agree w the east predictions.
The west, not so much.
Alabama... They lose a lot but are always ready to reload. Should be no different this time around. Don't think they go undefeated because OM can still beat them I think, but something tells me Saban figured this one out eventually... How many times has he lost to a team three times in a row? Ever?
Ole Miss... They lose a lot too, but will not play in playoff due to losing to Alabama and FSU... They start 1-2 but win out.
LSU.... Fournette is good enough to carry them through most of the schedule, just not Bama and OM.
Auburn... Not great but talent wise, better than the rest of the bottom.
Arkansas, Texas AM, and MSU tie for fighting it out at the bottom. They all have their own problems, with Arkh probably better than the other two. AMs trouble at QB haunts them and Sumlin probably walks after next year. MSU is going to be OK at QB..... But they will suck at every other facet of the game, no line, no running game. Only bright spots are LB and WR and they aren't great.
As a State fan I am less excited about the next five years than ever. We are about to start sucking again unless Dano figures out how to recruit.

Going through be another interesting year in the west. Bama and Ole Miss have to be the favorites and I would have to lean towards Bama coming out on top. Still more overall talent even though the draft is going to take a lot. WR corp should be loaded, Bo Scarbrough will be the next stud RB, OL only has to replace two starters. Plug in Barnet or Cornwell and offense keeps chugging along. Defense will have some early growing pains trying to rebuild the depth on the DL and the secondary may actually be even better.
Ole miss has to replace some big time players. They may have some talent but they do not have another Treadwell or Tunsil. Can somebody step up and fill those rolls? Will Conner be back?
Arkie has to replace Allen who is a very underrated QB, but I think they come in third followed closely by LSU who is still looking for solid QB play. A&M, Auburn, and State battle it out for the final 3 spots.

Ole Miss's recruting class is so good, there isn't a number to be put on it. It's better than #1. They win the East, West, SEC Championshi, ACC, Big 10, and Mountain West in the same day. Nick Saban resigns and turns into an alcoholic and starts coaching pee wee league in Pelham. Hugh Freeze is appointed as the Pope, The President, NFL Commissoner, Heir to Warren Buffett's estate, and Dan Bilizaren's personal woman prequalification specialist(don't act like yall dont know what I'm talking about), Moves into the Playboy mansion, owns the rights to the Blind Side, and his bust will be carved into Mt. Rushmore. But he turns it all down because he loves Taylor Grocery'ville "that much" and he would rather open a drug rehab and violence prevention program with the Nkemdiche brothers because of his influence "that one time" and helping get them back on their feet.

Would it be a little premature to label that game as the biggest in OM history?

Re: (Yearly) Way Too Early 2016 SEC Prediction Thread
With Chad Kelly returning, I like Ole Miss's chances next year of improving in the overall win column, whatever that might mean from an SEC West standing and title standpoint. Specifically, that would mean 11 total wins for the season.
My optimism is primarily based upon Kelly's return (huge IMO) and the addition of Shea Patterson, who will be able to go through spring practice with the team. Having Shea will enable the Ole Miss coaching staff to turn Kelly loose to run the ball from the get go, at least against the better teams on the schedule like FSU, Bama, etc. Our read option offense was much, much better in the last 5 games once Kelly started keeping the ball himself on occasion based upon his reads at the LOS, and running out of the pocket when there was open green ahead. Prior to that, the coaches had deliberately held him back in order to protect him. (Having Tunsil back, helped a lot as well).
