2015 SEC Prediction Thread

Postby Deltamud77 » Tue Aug 04, 2015 10:01 am

We have one every year about this time. Here are my picks, please post yours as well. We will review in December/January.

SECe:
(1) UGA - Their run game and defense will be good enough to win the division with two losses
(2) UTenn - I think they have same record as UGA, but lose head to head
(3) Mizzou
(4) USCe
(5) UF
(6) UK
(7) Vandy

SECw:
(1) Auburn
(2)(tie) Ole Miss
(2) Bama
(4) Arkansas
(5) aTm
(6) State
(7) LSU - LSU will struggle to win 6 games due to bad defense and poor QB play

Auburn will beat UGA and go into the 4 team playoff.

Playoff -

(1) Ohio State v (4) Auburn
and
(2) TCU v (3) USCw

OSU plays TCU for the title.

The Ohio State University repeats as national champs.

What say you?

I'll make just one.

State will go from worst to first. The rest I don't care about.

I won't break down in order but will take a guess along with others.

Tennessee wins east.
Alabama wins west.

State finishes 4th in west,
ole miss 5th.

TCU and Ohio state for national championship is very likely, but I will also submit this guess- Bama and TCU is also possible.

WEST:
1) Auburn
2) Alabama
3) LSU
4) Arkansas
5) MSU
6) Ole Miss
7) Texas A&M

EAST:
1) Georgia
2) South Carolina
3) Mizzou
4) UF
5) UT
6) UK
7) Vandy

Again it will look very possible that the SEC gets 2 teams in playoff but the system is pretty stacked against it, therefore only 1 SEC school.
Are we gonna get wet?

I think there is a decent shot that NO SEC team gets into the four game playoff. If FSU gets good QB play, they can go undefeated. Ohio State will likely go undefeated. Baylor or TCU will likely go undefeated. I think there is an outside shot of USCw or Oregon going undefeated. I think there is almost zero shot at an SEC team going undefeated, though if one does, I think it will be Auburn.

I also think that while the SEC is unquestionably deeper, top to bottom, than any other conference, the top tier schools from other conferences are on a par, if not better, than the top tier SEC schools right now. Ohio State will be amazing. TCU showed Ole Miss that they are the real deal. Oregon beat FSU (an SEC like school) like they owed them money.

Give Harbaugh two years at Michigan and they will be a Top 10 program again, year in and out.

I'll play even though I suck at early predictions!

West:
1. Bammer
2. Auburn
3. Arkie
4. Ole Miss
5. LSU
6. MSU
7. TAMU

East:
1. UGA
2. UT
3. Mizzou
4. SC
5. UF
6. UK
7. Vandy

The SEC as a conference has a problem. The conference is just too good overall, which makes it very tough for a team to go through the schedule undefeated or with only one loss for that matter. So getting to the playoff will be a challenge for any team.

ECe:
(1) UGA
(2) UTenn
(3) UK
(4) USCe
(5) Mizzou
(6) UF
(7) Vandy

SECw:
(1) Auburn
(2) Bama
(2) Ole Miss
(4) aTm
(5) Arkansas
(6) LSU
(7) State

Auburn SEC Champs and National Champs with win over Ohio State...I think TCU gets in top 4 and I don't know who the other will be.

just went back and re-read my prediction for the rebs last year and I missed it by 1 game. so i'll give it a go, again.

OL much improved as we finally have some depth, that should help give CK/RB plenty of time to make right reads and hopefully one emerges as true starter. OL should help the run game tremendously. defense will be just as salty as last year. way schedule lays out with bye week could make it tough if we do end up with some key players banged up. that said, rebs should finish reg season with 9 wins. if beat dawgs in Starkville (I'm not putting my money on it for damn sure) then that'll be 10.

Aub is my pick to win the west.

Ill go with history:

MSU will not end the season as low as everyone thinks they will.
Ole Miss will not end the season as high as everyone thinks they will.
UGA will start strong and take a nosedive shortly there after.
There will be conceptions in the hills of North Alabama after wins that produce offspring like Phyllis from Mulga, Harvey Updyke, and his kin, Allie Bama, and Crimson Tide.

I will make one prediction. Texas A&M will finish way higher than where they are predicted.

I don't even know where to start with the west. No clear front runner and no clear bottom team. Anybody could finish anywhere. If I had to pick a winner of the west right now it would be Auburn that's assuming the new QB lives up to the hype. I think this could be the year things come crashing down on Miles but he seems to keep winning no matter what. UGA in the east barring major injuries.
