The updated Dudy Noble talk has certainly went in the negative direction. I think there is a lot to be said about "if it aint broke don't fix it" when it comes to this special place. Sure we can do some improvements, but it does not need the major overhaul they have on table now. Numbers may be rumor or fact...but heard out of the 4500+ chairback seats (I have 2 and have not deposited), that less than 1000 people have put down deposits on holding their seat in the new Dudy.

Back to Cohen...he should not have a free ride to 2020 just because of the NC appearance. Yes it was a great accomplishment, one Polk did not reach. Cohen has micro-managed every aspect of the program. Besides the NC run, the rest of it looks to be slightly off what most MSU people want from the program each and every year IMO. The overall SEC record since he has been here is not defensible. You got to be at .500. I understand Cohen's thought process of just get to the post season and from there he will have a team to win. The bats, the defense....all of that strategy is defensible. BUT if you are not making it to the post season, and your SEC record is what it is, and you are not showing much humility in moments of disaster....well then a change may be needed. I think Cohen is very smart and very driven to win. Is he too arrogant to change??? That is the question!!! We need post season play. We need to host sometimes because....that is what we do best! We fill up a park to watch a bunch of 18-22 year olds do what they love doing. You want to see YOUR players happy and confident and feeling like they are playing the best game on earth in the best place on earth to watch college baseball. We have had that...and we expect it in that type of package. Boys need to be boys. Crowds need to gather. June needs to be about MSU baseball and stories be made. The type stories Stitch could tell. The type stories all us will tell and re-tell over and over. How much did Cohen have to do with that NC run??? It is always about the Jimmys and the Joes....not the Xs and the Os.

The costs of locking in your chairback seats or your outfield spot is the issue. There are many season ticket holders that are on a fixed income, social security, etc. They cannot afford the deposit, plus the bulldog club donation and the season ticket costs. Stricklin is going after the big money, ie corporations. There are MANY unhappy campers in the LFL. Some of these people were in the Top 50-100 of the bulldog club. Many lost their seats at Davis Wade due to being shuffled down the line of the bulldog club. They in return did not renew their chairbacks in DNF and only kept their outfield trucks. Many feel that no matter how much money they donate, they will lose the truck spots that they've had for 30 years. Many of these people have been foster families for these players over the years. They live and breathe Miss State baseball. They just see it all being thrown to the waste side over $$$. I've always wanted a chairback at DNF, and I finally have that chance. However, with how it's setup, I can't even afford what they're asking.

Exactly...it took many years of waiting for our name to come to the top of the list to get the 2 seats we have now....make the Bulldog Club donation and pay the season ticket cost....really an investment for me and my wife's future plans of sitting at DNF watching a lot of baseball....we only go to 10-15 games a year now with kids still in school....families who have had same seats around us for years....all so they can say what have you done for me lately.

SWAG and GH22 I agree with everything you two have said. My family has had more ties in football than baseball but as a teenager and college years I would go to most home baseball games. At the football game my family would go up in the M-Club building and meet up with several more families and basically have a family reunion every home game. None of the families had any money to speak of and I will never forget the hurt look they all had the first home game that we all gathered at after State went on the point system. I would say that day my attitude changed and I expect more than just being middle of the pack. I am smart enough to understand where we are at in football compared with the rest of the conference. I am also smart enough to know where we should be in baseball. We have the best of everything when it comes to baseball if the team needs or even wants it they can get it. From what I know we and LSU have the premiere parks and environments to play in through out the country. We have the highest paid coaches in the conference, the largest crowds, and the best talent. My question is why shouldn't we be better? I guess we could look at it another way at least we will be able to afford our tickets again next year.

In the past 12 years, we've hosted two regionals at State, 2003 and 2013. The 07 SR should've gone to Clemson but $$$ won.
That right there shows that our program has been average at best. David Murray wrote a long article on the state of the baseball program a couple of weeks ago. He didn't hold back any punches or sugar coat the situation. He also discussed the argument concerning the scholarships. There are teams every season winning 40 games on 11.7. It's time to recruit a diff style of player. The days of trying to walk, get a hbp or bunting are gone.

Didn't see that coming. Never thought we'd see him again after the whole "blonde mistress on a motorcycle" incident. Glad to have you back! If only for a moment...

In other news, Clemson just fired Jack Leggett.

Leggett led Clemson to 20 regionals in 21 years, and 6 trips to Omaha. If a coach of that caliber gets 86'd, then anyone can be canned.
