I thought it was pretty funny..... If they are waiting on State fans to argue about how cultured OM is then they will be waiting a while. They can take cultured and stick it. If I wanna see culture I will go to New Orleans, Charleston, or take my pick of any other big southern city who has more culture in one district that Oxford does in their whole town.

You can make fun of this article but if a person is around OM fans long enough this is how they will come across not all but a high majority.

When you say high majority and many people from state will say that I'm just baffled. Maybe it's because I know almost none like this. Maybe I'm just poor white trash. Maybe I don't hang with the big shots y'all do. But to say a majority come on let's be real. Yes I'm sure there are some that you speak of but in the same sentence you would have to say there are some from Starkville like this as well. In fact in my line of work as an engineer I see it just the opposite. It could all be my line of work I don't know. But I dang sure don't see this high majority spoken about.

I don't think most on this board are, or most likely they wouldn't be on this board... Haha. Seriously, the article was written in jest... Most likely to rowl up State fans and OM fans alike. It takes a tidbit of what State fans think of OM and combined a tidbit of what OM fans think of State. I would say that the majority of in-state students at both places have visited friends at both places and for the most part know better. I would think that if these opinions are present then they are predominantly those of out-of-state students who don't know that both of the MS schools are quality institutions of higher education, it just depends on your preference..... Do you wanna be a vet or a doctor ( although I know many doctors who did undergrad at State, not many vets did undergrad at OM).

I think there are probably a few pricks at OM who think this way, and there are probably a few rednecks at State who return the favor.... But not even close to majority at either one.
