Ole Miss v. ULL - Prediction Thread
As the week has progressed, my thoughts on this series have changed a couple of times. I am going to, however, go with my initial gut feeling at say that OM wins the first two games (one with relative ease and one by less than three runs) and heads to Omaha....
Re: Ole Miss v. ULL - Prediction Thread
Rebels in 2!
I think Ole Miss wins the series by taking the first two games as well. Ole Miss is clicking and the Rebs have an offense that can match ULL. Not alot is said about the Rebels pitching but it is pretty solid too. If Ole Miss slips and loses one of the first two, then I do believe everything turns over and ULL goes to Omaha. Being a MSU fan, there will be some delight if the Rebels do not make it and there will be some if they do make it. I have several die hard Rebel friends who went and watched UM baseball when 1,000 was a huge crowd for that program. Can sympathize with them not making it to Omaha the last 15 years when they have had some good teams. Bianco has done well building that program up. I have stated many times that it all got started with the coach (from Cali i believe) that was there before him. Those were good clubs too. On the other hand I do not care for the attitude of alot of UM fans who have just paid attention to college baseball the last decade and think their ballpark and their program is the most special in all the country. I know, I know....every place has it's own unique thing. Nationwide college baseball popularity has been growing. Honestly I believe some of the stories about MSU and Dudy Noble and the crowds and the atmosphere have been confused with UM by people outside of the immediate south. I mean, they did write Mississippi on the Dogs Final Four tees and hats back in '94. Have seen tv analyst confuse the two countless times. Has Swayze gained from some of the Dudy Noble magic just by sheer confusion? Sure. At the same time I know Ole Miss people love Swayze Field. I am glad they have a place to be proud of and a team that competes well. Tradition wise, success wise, crowd wise...MSU is still the more premiere program and destination for college baseball. Changing that will take the Rebs playing in Omaha a few times or winning the big one. They can do it. May happen this very summer. Who knows? But until they do there will always be part of me that likes to see them fall a little short

I've got a young cousin that does a little pitching for the Rebs, so hopefully they'll take ULL in 2 and be on the way to Omaha.

Re: Ole Miss v. ULL - Prediction Thread
I feel like if the Rebs can jump on ULL hard in game 1 with all they got then they will be relaxed enough to wrap it up in 2. If Rebs tip toe around and win game 1 by a run or 2 in a close game or lose game 1 then we may be in trouble in games 2 and 3.
im going rebs in 2.
