State gets a regional, with South Alabama, Jackson State, and Georgia Tech as the projected opponents. Ole Miss projected to go to Virginia Tech, along with Liberty, Columbia. At least thats one projection I saw. Who knows, we will find out by lunch tomorrow.

Gonna be a tough regional for the Bulldogs, 4 tough teams. I feel better about the Bulldog's chances against Virginia in the Super
Regional than I do the Starkville regional

As far as Ole Miss and their regional in Raleigh.......here is my prediction......whoever wins game 2 (assuming it will be Ole Miss vs NC State) will go to the College World Series. NC State has a stud left hander that may be the top pick in the draft. Ole Miss obviously has Wahl.......should be an awesome game to watch, you can bet the scouts will be lined up. Key to winning a regional is winning the second game.......that being said, winner in Raleigh goes to Oregon to play a VERY OVERRATTED Duck team........hence my prediction.......win game 2 in Realiegh and you have an easy road to Omaha

I've always said that if Ron had held Maholm to Game 2 of the 03 regional vs North Carolina, we were Omaha bound. You can't waste him vs Mid Tenn St in that situation. I'm the same way, Game 2 is the key.

And Mercer can leave their illegal bats at home this coming trip to Starkville, unlike last time.

yes, that would be a better matchup for ole miss than play NCstate in a regional. Oregon is overrated. however i don't think it much matters. UM can pitch and play defense with anyone. we just can't EVER get a timely hit, we freakin suck getting timely QAB's in the clutch.

I thought we would be much better on O after an early season slump.

fingers crossed for an outside shot at hosting supers. that would be sweet.

what's the thought on the UCA matchup in game 1? they were a tough opponent earlier this season. i know state has to be pumped about the rematch
