Tunsil

Postby mshunter77 » Fri Jul 03, 2015 12:17 pm

Surprised nobody has brought up the stuff going on with him. What's yalls thoughts? Yall believe him or the stepdad? I have not seen a statement from the mom. I know the stepdads son had the same story as him when cops showed up. Seems like that may be the real story since the son ran to the neighbors house when it happened so they did not have time to collaborate.

Tunsil is known for being a softy, he's a nice polite kid (judging from interviews) and hasn't ever had a inclining of trouble from him. That being said no one will ever know the true story. The truth always lies somewhere in the middle. The law states self-defense can be for someone else if you have a special bond with that person (ie. mother), but excessive force isn't allowed, blah blah legal jargon.

I'm sure whenever the SEC hands down its suspension (1 game I'm guessing just to stay with protocol) it will be about September 18th.

You are right about the truth usually being somewhere in between.

That he was allegedly involved in a fight and arrested is like the third or fourth most interesting part of this whole deal. I had kinda forgotten that is how this ball got rolling to begin with.

The interesting component of this has nothing to do with the domestic violence issue of the story. The Clarion Ledger has reported that the NCAA has been to Oxford to meet with this step-father about his allegations of improper benefits. You never want the NCAA on campus investigating such a matter.

The problem is that if the NCAA does not clear Tunsil prior to the season, Ole Miss will not be able to play him. The reason they cannot play him is that they run the risk of playing a player that may later be deemed ineligible. If you play a player that was ineligible, you forfeit all the games in which he played.

That does not even get into whether or not he actually received improper benefits, which I feel certain he did, just like any other high profile player at any SEC school.

Let the record show that it was not a State fan that first made these preposterous accusations.

I think the domestic violence part hurts his draft stock. With h the increased pressure on the NFL about domestic violence he will drop some in the draft. That being said he will still go in the first round of the draft and make way more money than I ever will. Just maybe not a top 5 pick anymore.

Did not AU play Cam before knowing results of NCAA investigation? Sure it was a gamble worth taking.

Newton didn't have a snitch squealing to the NCAA but rather a united network of tight lipped folks. It remains to be seen whether there is such a character in this story.

Nothing to worry about. "The Network" is on it.
