Ole Miss v Arky Prediction Thread

Postby Deltamud77 » Tue Nov 18, 2014 1:40 pm

Ole Miss is coming off a much needed bye-week and is headed to Hogville in what is really a critical game for the Rebels if they want to go to a top tier bowl.

Arkansas is coming off of their first win in the SEC in over two years against a hapless LSU team that has a QB that would not start at Holmes Junior. That said, they have to be playing with a renewed since of vigor and confidence.

The weather is going to be chilly and there is a 90% chance of rain.

IMO, everything about this game is trending towards the Hogs winning it.

As such, I am bucking the trend and predicting a fairly decisive Ole Miss victory.

28-17 Rebel Black Bears.

If it's raining and the ground is slick, I like Arkansas. If it's dry then I would give the edge to rebels. Either way it should be a close game. An offense is only good if it can get on the field. Arkansas has controlled the clock in every game this season with it's running game, I expect no different Saturday.

Arkansas might have a little more confidence after their win last week, but the Rebels have a lot more to play for. Hawgs do have a good run defense and probably the best pair of pass rushers in the league, but are weak in the secondary.

Their run game appears to be good on paper, but they have really padded their stats against weak opponents. They are averaging less yards per play on the ground against ranked teams than Ole Miss is and we all know Rebs rushing attack is BAD. That, coupled with the fact that the land sharks have allowed the fewest TDs in country makes me think they will be successful stopping them on the ground.

I think Ole Miss will get off to a quick start and end up winning by two scores.

Razorbacks just voted Bad Bo their game MVP.

My neighbor, the big sidewalk UM fan, just backed outta his driveway, and ran over his satellite dish..pretty sure he did it on purpose.

Man that was hard to watch. Defense playing their guts out; bad throws, injuries, dropped passes, awful special teams play. On the other hand, the piggies brung it all night.

Lessons - we ain't got a backup QB yet, and we still have no ground game. Walton is dangerous outside so naturally we run him between the tackles 80% of the time. Hasn't worked all year but .....

Still proud of the team and the year they've had. Some good kids.
