Field trial vs hunt test

Postby teul2 » Thu Jul 27, 2017 2:34 pm

I am apparently looking for more ways to waste my money. I've been searching for close AKC and UKC hunt tests to run the puppy in. And I see a field trial close (well close enough), but I know nothing about them. And I am wondering what the average Joe's opinion of a field trial is.

What is the objective? I assume this is where you are competing against other dogs rather than a test standard.
I'll stop showing my ignorance, and just ask, what is a field trial?
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)
