Dog Foot Injury

Postby JMitch » Sat Dec 24, 2016 4:00 pm

My dog was hunting yesterday and cut the top of her foot. She has no noticeable limp but a small knot is on top of her foot. I cleaned it with saline solution. What do y'all use to clean a cut on a dog?

Hydrogen peroxide, then Veticyn (sp?) or similar product. I have found with mine (probably from where we hunt) that with a puncture injury, they almost always abcess and require a trip to the vet for lancing, etc.
So many ducks, so little time....

Dogs are tough and usually heal fine. However for nasty wounds on the livestock around here I use blu kote
