An unexpected good bye

Postby jc » Sat Nov 30, 2013 8:53 pm

Had to say an unexpected good bye to my dog Tank last night. He was a half golden retriever half black lab but a damn god dog that saw his life end at only 8 years old. Came home from my in laws around 8:30 Thursday night and found him on his side about to take his last breath. As I held his head he closed his eyes and took that last breath. Best hunting partner I ever had as always waited for his kennel to be loaded in. He knew it was time to go. I wish I knew what happened, vet said either his heart or his kidneys as this all happened so fast, as no signs were present until Thursday night. I had made an appointment with the vet for Friday morning as he was not acting like himself.
Hoping his heaven is filled with endless bumper retrieves and chasing tennis balls for fun!

Tank you will be missed this season and all the seasons yet to come.
Your hunt is only as good as your dog and the people that are with you.

So Sorry for you loss. I know what it is like to loose one so young. My girl was find and 45 minutes later, dead, same age as yours. She had Nictrotizing Pacreatis . This was almost 5 years ago and still really miss her. Thankfully we had her pup.
