Question on training tips

Postby Down South Gratton » Wed Oct 23, 2013 4:06 pm

I have been self training my lab. This will be his first year out in the field. He just turned 1 year this month. He retrieves like no other and he listens better then most. But I'm running into the issue of him not looking for ducks the fall and he wines a bunch in the mind when it's slow. Does anyone have any tips to help me calm him down? Will that just happen over time?

If he's whining it likely will get worse instead of better if you hunt him this season. I would not hunt the pup this year and train him instead. Just my opinion
