Raising a Glass Tonight

Postby B3 » Wed Jul 30, 2014 7:56 pm

To skippy J's Fordland's Whata Thrill Lucille. Lucy passed this week and she leaves behind great memories and great pups including my Daisy. Lucy was a lights out marking machine with tons of talent who's competitive career was cut short by deafness. She was not only a fine performer but was one of the sweetest dogs to be around and I jumped at the opportunity to get a pup from her 5 years ago.

Lucy brings back memories of dogs that got lots of us started a decade or so ago and what she and other dogs taught us as trainers over the years is carried on in our younger dogs. Every time I take Daisy out to train or hunt I am reminded of Lucy and Chip and what a great team they made.

Here's to you sweet girl. Thanks for the memories..

Nice tribute, Bill.

It's tough to loose one like that. We'll be thinking about you, Chip......and raising a glass to another good one.

Thank you guys for all the kind words. Been pretty rough around my house the last few days. Hard to type with tears in your eyes!!!

This happened all very suddenly. She had a stroke and we had to put her down, Nothing they could do.

My heart has been broken, but at the same time I'm thankful that the good Lord blessed me with such a fine animal!!

Till we meet again!!

Chip - So sorry for your loss. I trained with Lucy a couple times, and I had to compete with her offspring. She was a fine animal, and I know she is missed!

RIP Lucy!

Glass raised to a great one! Well said Bill.

So sorry to hear this Chip. You did a great job with her, and she took you places... Here's to hoping the good memories heal that broken heart brother. Talk to you soon.
