Re: Whiskey Discussion
Ill add a little to this as well:
Here are my favorites. Ive drank a lot of high end stuff. Ijust dont like paying for it...lol
Vodka: Bloody Mary...Handle of Titos as well; plus Zing Zang at all times!! Titos makes a decent dirty martinin as well. Or Svedka Citron over ice.
Scotch: Famous Grouse for frequent consumption (imho best blended ever), any of the higher end single malts for special occasion. over ice
Bourbon: Wild Turkey 101 splash of Sprite
Rum: Sailor Jerry, splash of diet coke....best rum, worst hangover!!

Oh, I'll add my 2 bourbons of choice as well. Basil Hayden and Wild Turkey Rare Bread. Both are right about the $40 mark.

Re: Whiskey Discussion
Always some Bulliet 10 year old and makers at my house, usually a single barrel Four Roses, and when I'm lucky enough to win the yearly bourbon lottery....a Pappy, of whatever vintage they get that year. (3 times in 5 years)
I can live with the cathead or 360 vodka for bloodys, but absolut peppar makes a dam goodurn too. Ketel one or goose for tonics or shooting...
Keep a bunch of wine in the cooler too for that once in a blue moon I decide to drink some or when other people that do show up. Ravenswood, Coppola, Paradux, etc.
Other than that....BYOB ifin you want Rum, Scotch, Gin (I'm banned from consuming that), cat liquor, Absinthe, sweet tea vodkie, or whatever.

At times there is not a satisfactory substitute for well-aimed lead going down range at high velocity.

Re: Whiskey Discussion
If partaking in drinks at my house...you will be offered Old Charter & sprite. If you don't like that, we have a faucet with plenty of water.

Re: Whiskey Discussion
Bulleit bourbon or Elijah Craig neat or with a splash of water if I'm feeling up to "splurging" on some decent stuff.
Old Charter with splash of water is a staple and will tide me over most of the time.
I've never been one to add too much sugary carbonation to my bourbons. I do like a good ole' Jack and diet coke every once and a while...... if I'm drinking Tennessee stuff.

Re: Whiskey Discussion
I've always kept a couple bottles of Wild Turkeys Kentucky Spirit on hand and would butt heads with anybody about its quality. While I still enjoy this, I was given a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle this year for Christmas.
WOW!
