I don't want to buy any of it at these prices. I'll gladly help someone else drink it though.

Y'all remember when click teased a few of us into thinking we were gonna split a case between us back a couple of years ago?

I'm on a waiting list @ a couple of places @ was told the other day that a case only consists of 3 bottles. Anyone know if that's accurate? If true, I doubt my name will ever make it to the top of the list!

A case of Van Winkle does in fact have only 3 bottles. I met the distributor/broker while I was obtaining mine...hopefully some good will come out of it 8)

If it does can I have a small drink?

Also I now like bourbon with a single fat ice cube. Preferably a round one. Just let the whisky cool a bit and you will be surprised at all the different flavors that are released. Ice tray ice has too many impurities. Doesnt make sense right off the bat but try it.

I like single malt. Dalmore is good stuff and pretty good price for 12 year old. The Macallan is good but pricey. I had some Knockando once that was awsome but can't find it anywhere in Alabama.

^^ i knew there was a reason i liked you!
dalmore, dalwhinnie, oban, balvenie...all staples (macallen is over-rated for the price imo). the benriach is a really good one for the price. if you can find it, buy a few bottles (you'll thank me). it has taken at least 3 months to order and current order has taken longer.

See if you can find some Black Maple Hill. It has to say Kentucky Bourbon on it though. It is the best you'll ever see in the $50 range. Their distillery was owned by two jewish brothers that got in an argument and refused to work together anymore. BMH had to find another company and moved the operation to Oregon....new bottles say Oregon Bourbon  and taste completely different. If you find any of the original stuff in the store get it.......it's FINE. I think the last bottles were stamped 2013. I was able to score the last 6 bottles around here.

Also, look for a bourbon W H Weller. If you can't find Pappy.....the bourbon experts say the closest thing is the W H Weller. It's made from the same mash in the same location. It's not aged as long though.

Never been a big whiskey guy but I am about to start putting together a whiskey cabinet to have some to have for when we have friends over. As far as bourbon I know what the staples are Charter, Makers, Crown etc. What I am wanting to know is what are some good rums, scotch, vodkas and what ever else is needed. Not wanting cheap cheap stuff but nothing expensive say $40 or less.

<$40 "good" single malt scotch is rare..you're looking for blends in that range. a couple are dimple pinch & chivas regal (some say red grouse fits that bill as well). for good single malts, you'll start at $50 and work up (exponentially) from there.

One glass of black maple hill is all I need for a hangover. Crazy. Good taste but not for me.

Want some Pappy? Come to Tampa...
