Whiskey Discussion

Postby Deltamud77 » Tue Sep 27, 2011 3:43 pm

Maybe better suited for the food board...but what the hey. What is your favorite whiskey?

Over the last few years I have found an appreciation for Dickel No.12. Pretty cheap, really smooth, easy to find.

What say you?

I hear Pappy Van Winkle is the bee's knees. A little pricey though...

Bigbeeducker told me about the Van Winkle. I have been trying to find some around here. Maker's 49 is a go to whiskey. Go get some Redbreast 12 year. It's Irish pot still whiskey. None of that scotch crap. Whisky Magazine awarded it Irish Whiskey of the year. Ridgemont Reserve 1792 is a good one too. So is Four Roses.

Maker's 49 is the real deal.

I second Basil Hayden, also like Blanton's (when I have the cash), but stick with maker's for the most part. Unless I'm sharing, then Evan Willliams is my man...

Basil Hayden, neat, if somebody else is paying.

If I'm buying, lately i've been going for the Jim Beam Devils Cut. Pretty smooth and not expensive

Makers in the half gallon is what stays in my cabinet year round but I am occasionally starting to appreciate scotch Oban, Glenlevet and McCallum
