Ever feel like you don't "need" anymore hunting stuff?

Postby woody » Wed Aug 10, 2011 2:09 pm

I know I will probably get blasted for this, but....

I have a good bit Bass Pro Shops Rewards points that I could use to purchase an item or items for the upcoming season, but I have been through their website and cannot find anything that I just have to have. I want to use them, but on something that I "need" or would come in handy. I'm sure something will come up during the season that I will need, so I will most likely old on to them.

But, has anyone ever had this feeling? And what would you use the points for?

No, never had that feeling.

I can always stand a few new deer stands and trail cameras. Also gloves, socks, little chit like that i loose every year. Always need ammo too.

Unfortunately I never have this problem.

Reached that point a couple years back. Never would have thought it existed. Told the wife and she didn't believe it, but only thing I buy now are shells & replacement socks.

The only new stuff they come out with are bird-flaring gizmoes and other assorted garbage.

[Edited to include the following:] Scratch the "buy" replacement socks - I got those lifetime BPS socks and haven't bought a new pair in 6 years.

I thought I would never reach this point either, but got paid lsat friday, checked points and started searching...By all means I do not have everything on the market, but I feel like I have reached the point of having the essentials....
Maybe a spare set of waders, never know when I'll poke a hole in a pair...I would rather buy shells somewhere they are cheaper. Spendig money regardless of rewards points/gift certificate at high dollar place just doesn't make sense to me.

I would be willing to take some off your hands also!
May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
Cheers, Georgie.
