Good weather website for wind?

Postby matador1 » Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:14 pm

I'va always used Weather.com but it doesn't update often enough. Biggest thing I see with it is hourly wind being wrong.

This is what I use. It's usually pretty close, but sometimes they miss it altogether.

I never knew such a site existed. Whoever figures out how to do it will be very wealthy people.

None of y'all use weatherbug? It updates the wind direction every 10 seconds. I thought everyone knew about that

I use http://www.windfinder.com for sailing. It's a great site for coastal wind, but it doesn't cover all that far inland. Just depends on where you're looking for.

Here is a list of automated weather stations for the jackson area. http://raws.wrh.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/roman/ ... 6&time=GMT

For forecasts I use the NWS in Jackson.
