This weather...

Postby greenheadgrimreaper » Wed Apr 27, 2011 2:39 pm

I have never seen anything like this before in my life. I called my buddy who is in meteorology at MSU tracking this system. He said over 90% of the cells in the state have a tornado index of 5 or higher. Nanih Waiya has major damage. Amory guys better buckle down there is a monster to your north. Guys on the local station and weather channel say they've never seen anything like this before.

This storm system will go down in the history books. I've never experienced anything like it.

I just got off the phone with the Taylor Machine Works Shipping Center in Philadelphia, MS and they had a tornado come within 75 yards of the building and took out of their power and phone lines, nobody was hurt at the location, but I don't know about anywhere else in Philly.

I am praying for my Mississippi Brothers and Sisters from out here in Texas.

Keep ya'lls head down.

Brandon just dodged that one.....but looks like Puckett, Johns, Cato, and Rock Hill are getting blasted....if you only knew how many poultry houses I insure in that area....been up since 330 this morning and might be a long night...lets hope not, but those things are like trailer parks....tornados feed off of them

Had some damage in Sidon, about 5 miles from my house. I was actually in Sidon headed towards Greenwood when that storm blew through. I pulled up on a car that had run off the road during the rain. I was talking to the guy who ran off the road when the storm hit and I got the guy to sit in my truck on the side of 49 while it came through. I watched in my rear view mirror as the transformer blew and Sidon lost power. Wind was rocking my F250 around like it was a Prius and the rain was so heavy, you had about 5ft of visibility. I called the wreck into the SO and waited for MHP to get there before riding to town and back through Sidon. It was interesting to say the least.

Here are some pictures I took today, those crews have been working pretty much all day...The folks with Delta Electric were working on the power within 30 minutes of the worse part of the storm passing. My power is with Entergy and it went off sometime between 1 and 2:30 and came back on around 11:30 this morning. My hats off to those folks, there is no way in hell I would be in a bucket truck with the lightning we had last night..

Damn. Smithville, MS pretty much no longer exists. Several of my coworkers are now homeless, unknown dead. Power, in Smithville, might be off for days.
