We started building a cabin/camp/poutin' house back in November. Here's a few pics of our progress so far, just started workin on the inside. Gotta give props to my buddy Chester for all his help and guidance.
"poutin' house" is probably the best term i've heard to describe them! i helped a buddy build a smaller one room many years back, but it was much rougher....more rustic, if you will.
The level of detail is 1st class! Still "hunting" for your rock. Need to meet and get you this rice. It scared the crap outta me Saturday morning. Thought someone had sneaked into my living room Friday night and passed out on the floor.
That's AWESOME! I'd love to have something like that one day. When do you think you'll have her done? Can't wait to see some finished pics with some greenheads hanging off the front porch.
Thanks, it is an open floor plan, all one big room on the bottom except for the bathroom. It has a big loft and a room over the front porch. The siding is cypress, edged on one side only. The rusty tin and beadboard came out of an old house I tore down. I've been able to reuse some materials and it has helped save some money.Hope to get the inside done in a couple of weeks. Any of you guys coming up hwy25 between Louisville and Starkville give me a shout if u want to take a look.
Do you have to treat any of the old wood before re-using inside? Got two neighbors with large old barns that are about to fall in. I have thought of tearing them down for them just to get the wood for a similar plan like yours.
