I found these while searching for info:

Re: Replacing 1.5v NiMh AA with 3.7v Lithium AA?
According to another very knowledgeable member of this forum, I quote:

"14500 has 750mAh*3.7V = 2.8Wh of energy.
Eneloop has 2000mAh*1.2V = 2.4Wh of energy.

So, the difference between the high capacity NiMh and 14500 is quite small.
However, note that most flashlights work much more efficiently at higher voltages -
and since the 14500 li-ion has a higher voltage than the Ni-Mh, they normally end up
having equal/longer runtime, as well as the ability to go brighter."

Besides, I actually own 2 of the flashlights in question, and have actually used both
types of batteries in them. The lion batteries make them appear about twice as bright,
and I don't notice any decrease in runtime. Real World Experience beats theories any
day of the year.

The initial headlights that this post was started from are unbelievable.

But if you dont know exactly which one to get you will be in a world of hurt on ebay! All the adds look alike but some are different products. Some have gotten the wrong ones, and they sucked.

Someone want to run give the rundown of all the other lights yall have found to be great?

I bought 10 of the little single AA 's and they are legit. I also took RNAILs advice and got a couple 14500 rechargeable Li ion batteries and he is right, they are brighter. Amazing little lights.

I just ordered 2 more of the 3800 lumen light. they will be some christmas presents this year. the original head lamps are good; I just don't use a head lamp much.

The prices on these things are what is incredible.

I ordered 3 more headlights and they came in last week. Same as the first ones in the original post, 5w, 300 lumens, and they arent half as bright as my first one! they are getting crappy on us!

just got my 3800 lumen light in last night.

It is stupid bright for sure. It is not a focusable beam but it shines a great distance and lights up a huge area.

This madness has to stop. I have more AA lights on the way. NO MORE LIGHTS FOR ME!

But I might order some for Christmas Presents :)

I was telling a buddy about them and he ask if they were brighter than a maglite. I tried to explain that it was like comparing one of those dollar store plastic D cell lights with a maglite.

Doing some more research, what ever you order get the ones that have the Cree led bulb. I thought the Cree was a brand name, it is a type or brand of led bulb, thats where all the brightness comes from/ Micha, using the little headlight is the bomb, you will never go back to cat eyes and cap lights again, you can strobe in and it just puts out a glow about 5 feet in diameter for walking and strobe out and you can shine deer eyes in the next county. For 2.56 you cant go wrong. This one is what I have and I vouch for it being a good one, they have gone up some since we ordered last. Here is the link that started all this:
