Decoy weights

Postby feather-chaser » Mon Dec 20, 2010 3:07 pm

Guys I'm looking for some egg weights around the starkville or tupelo area to rig up some new decoys I got today. Where can I buy em at? Check at walmart, dicks, and hunters haven already and they don't have em. Any help would be appreciated. Hope y'alls seasons are goin better than mine!

If you're looking for egg weights like the 4oz. ones for texas rig, eBay will be your cheapest bet if you don't need them right away and are wanting a few dozen of them. It will take a week to get some tho. If you are looking to get a dozen or so ASAP, Bass Pro carries them but they run around $1.50 each  That is the only place around Jackson I have seen them.

We bought some at Clay's bait shop in Tupelo a few weeks ago for the same purpose. 662-840-7980

I use 1 ounce weights on mine, slip tangle free line through the weight and pound flat with a hammer.

They hold great for me in heavy wind even on a clean bottom. If it's too windy, I just step them down into the mud. I'm only putting out about 24 decoys, so it's no big deal. If there's any grass where you hunt, I can assure you they won't budge from where you put them out.
