My personal "Pro Staff"... I'm talkin to ya'll !!!

Postby RIP EM » Fri Dec 17, 2010 2:02 pm

I need a little help,..... My MSDuckers !

Give me all the info/advice you can on the Benelli, Vincci !

I have heard good and bad ! Be critical ! I do'nt care if its "something you heard" or something you know firsthand !

The Vincci is the model I'm interested in,... but I also saw a Benelli next to it, (ca'nt recall the name).... that list a handsome pricetag of 1,800 clams !!! It is chambered for 3 inch ! What gives ?

New one on me ! What could possibly make it worth $ 1,800 !

Looked and felt good ! ..... BUT SO DID MY FIRST WIFE !!!! ABSOLUTLEY "NOT" WORTH THE PRICE !!!

Thanks in advance !

HOPE ALL OF YOU HAVE THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER !!!

I Shot a Vincci in South Dakota last year... Killed a couple Pheasants with it. That thing will break your middle finger... I don't understand why you don't go on and Buy the Beretta and quit wasting your time looking else where?

Was talking at Lakeway with that bunch and the duck commander crew which were shooting them last year, each one had there middle finger wrapped up. They werent too impresses to say the least. The gun just feels cheap to me. Alot better guns for less money plus will shoot 3.5 if you wanted. SBEII, Maxus, Xtrema, Super X3 pretty much narrows it down for me.

I've taken one apart and the "guts" look cheaply made. Also, they tout this whole easy to put together 3 piece modular design...how often do you really need to fully assemble your shotgun? Only when you clean it, right? Well this hand wants a gun that is not modular and comes apart in more than 3 pieces. I was in the new shotgun market a few months ago...looked them all over...went with the Browning Maxus...very satisfied.

It's ugly....no let me clarify FUGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Xtrema 2 or M2, or SBE II would be my choice depending on how they shoulder for you.... Put a sure cycle in the Benelli's and you'll be happy....

I duck hunt with my xtrema 2 and turkey hunt with an M2...been very pleased with both.......

I guess the trigger guard slamming the finger issue would be adverted if I wouldn't choke up on the gun so far. It's just a habit I guess that I developed throughout the years shooting remingtons... The remingtons have a real thin trigger guard profile, so, never had a problem. The Venci has a thick rearward extending trigger guard. Different than anything that I have ever shot. The trigger pull on the Venci is smooth and light so all it takes is the finger tip. Gotta change my shooting style and I'm sure all will be well. Like I said before, the gun shoulders well for me and I've killed quite a few birds with it this season. It comes with every choke under the sun and good ol' modified with #4's patterns best for me out to 35 yrds. Some don't like the modular design, but, I find it real handy for cleaning and quick takedown if you have an issue in the field. I haven't had one yet. It's lightweight so it has a little more kick than a SBEII. To be expected though...
Overall though,,, I am more or less pleased with this gun...

P.S. >>> My R/H middle finger is wrapped as well!

Hunted with the Vincci about 50 hunts last season. Hated it. The trigger guard and assembly were to bulky for my likings. It did not fit well with me. Never had a mechanical problem with it just more of a personal preference.

I have a Vinci, and love it. Hunted with it yesterday. Shot a limit and my middle fingers just fine. It shoulders well for me, and I've never had the middle finger thing happen to me. I have a SBE II also that my son seems to acquired from me somehow. Don't know how he's shooting it though, it was always a little long in LOP for me, and he's even shorter. Just get what feels comfortable to you. I checked out the A400 Explor and the Maxxus the other day, and they fit me well too, and if you gotta do it, they will handle 3.5's. One of those 2 will be my next gun, but till then the Vinci's doing me just fine. Everyone is different though, so but what feels good to you.

Take a look at the new berreta. Has a new "kick off" that dam near eliminates kick of big loads. Shot it and was really impressed and is supposed to shoot all light loads as well. They don't have a camo model yet but will in a few months I was told and thats the only reason I don't have 1 yet.
