Anyone know a variety of sunflower that if planted this week will be ready for the opener? Been to crazy around here to get them in.

You could plant the seed really thick and not put any fertilzer!

so planting them now means they won't be ready to hunt over opening day, or that they won't grow at all because it is too late in the summer?

They just might not make it by the opener, but should be close. The place is surrounded by corn and milo so its has to beat the harvest to do much good

They will grow fine, just probably won't be ready for labor day.
