Space shuttle entry?
Anybody hear it?
I just walked into work this morning and heard it go off, probably scared the crap outta folks who didn't expect it.
Supposedly it travels at mach 12, that my friends is what you call "totin' the mail".

Re: Space shuttle entry?
I heard someone say that it took about 15 mins for the shuttle to go from over Oregon to over Mississippi.
Re: Space shuttle entry?
I was in the yard workin in Amory and heard it but didn't get to see it. Several people here said they saw it though. It was around 8 am.
Re: Space shuttle entry?
news report said it was at about mach 9 when it came across mi'ssippi - astronauts said it was a cool entry, they got to see the u.s. from west to east - across rockies, midwest, mississippi Delta...
Experience is a freakin' awesome teacher...

If you haven't viewed the International Space Station at night, man, you're missing some cool stuff. Google: International Space Station Viewing Times. That thing is traveling around 20,000mph and can go from horizon to horizon in a minute or less. It's only 250 miles or so above the earth.

Re: Space shuttle entry?
The news report I saw last night said the shuttle was going to enter off the coast of the Oregon/Washington and touchdown 28 minutes later in Florida. That is moving right there.
Re: Space shuttle entry?
Didn't hear it this morning but have before. I think I read somewhere it's traveling 5 miles per second. That's skeetin' it right there...

Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him.
