A good friend gone

Postby Unkljohn » Fri Mar 12, 2010 3:36 pm

My 14 year old Chocolate dog(Rubin) died on Wednesday. I knew his time was drawing near, but he saved me that decision when I found him in the yard Wednesday after work underneath the Hibiscus bush. He was given to me when he was 6 months old, washed out by somebody up in TN. He never did hunt anything other than a biscuit, but he was a great and loyal friend and he will be missed.

There's no friend truer than our canine friend, is there? He's somewhere chasing a biscuit still, I bet.
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." - Unknown

John very sorry to hear about that. If we could just alter genetic codes of a dog to make them live as long as we do....

Sorry to hear about Rubin, John......we would've liked to have know him in his younger days. Is that the famous lawnmower (in the photo) he tore-up. Glad you have Oakley to soften the loss a little. Life is tough without a dog.

Sorry for your loss. Great dogs are not only measured in what they do in the field or in competition, but what they do in our lives.
