Duck Club Question.....

I have a chance to get in a 2000ac duck club with abou 15holes on it. No lodging available yet....20yr proven history of having consistent high population of mallards. Just wondering if I was getting ripped or if the price is fair. The membership is $3k and incudes a guest each time I hunt. Club has several field holes, some natural breaks and sloughs and 3 greentimber holes.

Depending on how many members, it sounds like a deal to me. If the property is in Amory you might be getting ripped off, though.

If the club was in amory i wouldnt pay $300....lol.. nah the club is in the AR delta...not sure of the small town or community its in. I think the number of members was gonna be around 30 but im not sure on number of guest allowed.

2000 ac - 15 holes - 30 members + guests - $3K per member - no lodging..........$90K. Doesn't sound all that appealing to me. I don't know that you could hunt all 15 holes on a consistent basis, manage the number of guest/member ratio well enough to keep pressure down and kill ducks consistently......even if the ducks use the place all season.

I have around 1400 acres over 3 tracts of land and consistantly have 12 to 14 fields flooded to hunt with 2 sloughs and I don't allow but 9 members and me to hunt. I am the 10th paying member, I don't take any kick backs. Don't allow guest to come at will, I make it a point to ask my members to keep in touch with each other and spread the amount of guest that come. No 1 member can bring a guest everytime they come if someone else that hasn't brought a guest wants to. It has always worked for us and kept the number of hunters on a weekend at the most 12 hunters. Also will not allow the same guest to come more than 3 times annually with the maximum that a guest can stay per visit is 3 days (children are not guest). I see that as spliting memberships and don't tolerate that. I am in the MS Delta.

Sounds to me that they are trying to build revenue to fund something. Whether that be for the club benefit or someone elses. I knew of a club in the Cleveland area that had a large membership number and a better than average due and alot of the money that was capital went to pay the top 3 guys memberships and to pad that pocket a little. They are no longer around.

i think the rest of the money would be going to a lodge...personally if a guy takes the time to organize it, find the land, advertise for members i dont have a problem with them making money. Alot goes into from wha i hear.

Thanks for all the insight, I may look a little around a little more. I see alot of reference to fighting bayou hunting club. I would like to know what it is and what does a club with that much history cost to get in? If anyone knows some details, thanks in advance.

Like a said before just out of curiosity, how many acres and members do they have? Is the hunting good, great, unbelievable? Clubhouse what is it? Where is it located? What history goes with the place? I know I will never be a member but would like to know a little about it since I have heard about it so much.
