Yea, starting to see some thawing, but not like one may expect. Ducks were still sitting this AM where they have been Fri-Sun. Would expect this afternoon and tomorrow for sure to change some things. May be Wed before water in the woods is open unless you give it some help.

Thanks for the info, it looks to be a little warmer today than they had expected with sunshine. It's not getting quite as cold tonight so maybe we'll see some thawing today.

Dang GC you must have been a good boy!
Just hoping this thaw will prove to be more productive than before the freeze. Have a feeling its just going to be that it confined what was already around, but got to be optomistic. It has been a really shatty one in the rice fields.

The BOMB is an understatement...this boy that grew up in LA had a flat out ball watchin mallets hit 3" thick ice and slide 15'. Saw several firsts the last few days and learned a few things...will have a layout blind for next year and there will be a boat added to mix with our group.

I'm hoping that we can use decoys that float in the next couple of days. Is the sun shining on ice or water up there today? Ponds are about half open in Central Ms now. I'm hoping that the fields will thaw today and the woods will begin to thaw today. Any reports?

Froze back fairly hard last night, was 26 degrees at my house this AM at 6:00. I assume same holes will thaw today that did yesterday and, like you mentioned, maybe some thawing start to take place in the woods. Water is just cold and does not take much for it to freeze back up quickly. Tallahatchie River has also fallen some so not quite as much running water in fields as it was 2 days ago. These brakes and fields need to thaw on out with this reduction in open water.

Mississippi River at memphis has pretty good size chunk ice floating this morning. Buddy said Lake Buelah was mostly froze this morning too. I doubt any fields will be thawed today.
