I shoot Kick's High Flyer (Full) in an SBE II with Dry Lok #4 and love it. Tried the Patternmaster and Briley but prefer the Kick's for duck hunting. Briley modified suits me better for dove hunting. Just my opinion.

Briley is the gold standard. You just have to figure out what constriction for the places you hunt. Try IC or LM.

Thanks for the help. Its actually a Christmas gift for my cousin.

We primarily hunt open water, aka flooded rice and beans, but occasionally some timber.

kick's modified with kent #3's worked best....of course, I only bought kicks due to the success with their turkey chokes.....i patterned it with several different types of steel shot, black cloud, remington, winchester, fioccia, kent, estate, and heavy shot....by far the best pattern with kent.....similar pattern with the black cloud but consistently 1-3 more pellets at 40 yds....

kicks is IMO by far and away the best choke out there....and the first 2 hunts this year, I could tell a HUGE difference from the factory chokes....I only missed once...

oh yeah, i shoot a beretta XII

hope this helps

What ever brand you buy, go ahead and get the Black Cloud version for him, that way he won't have to swap it out if he decides to shoot the BC. The rule is to not use ported chokes with the B/C.
