Postby RNT » Tue Nov 10, 2009 8:58 pm

I am about to turn twenty one in jan and want to get another pistol. I have a 1911 but to heavy and really nice to leave throwin around in my truck. i was thinking about getting a .380 or a small 9mm what would yall recommend. i like the springfield xdm and the ruger or bersa.. not sure about the quality on either of those though.

Taurus PT-111 Pro, 9mm

I paid $300 for mine. Small, compact and very accurate. Ammo is also the cheapest and more readily available.

Glock 22,23,35 if just for the truck 23 or 27 if your going to actually carry it since you more than likely will not be in your truck if the chit hits the fan.

I like small revolvers. I have a snub-nose 38. I leave the chamber in front of the hammer empty to avoid mishaps. Pull the trigger, it "revolves", and bang!

check out the Bersa Conceal Carry 380. I just got one and really like it. I had a keltec but wanted something that felt more like a "gun". Also it has a couple of safety features which I like since I keep it both on me and in my home with kids.

S&W Airweight 38 with Crimson Trace Laser for concealed carry. Glock 27 or Glock 30 both with night sights stay in the truck.

S&W Sigma for throwing around in your truck. Trigger is heavy and long, but they are utterly reliable and cheap with a $50.00 rebate right now.

Ruger LCP .380

or .380 Kel-Tec

For the truck.....If someone steals it out of your truck you won't have your feelings hurt as bad.

For a carry gun..... same. If it is big and heavy you won't carry it. You will say you will, but 8 times out of 10 you'll leave it in the truck. You need something small and easy to slip in your pocket and you'll carry it a LOT more than a larger weapon.

My brother was stopped at a Railroad Crossing night before last waiting on a train and someone appeared out of the darkness and was coming towards the window. Luckily a car came up behind him at almost exactly the same time and the dude turned around and ran off. He had his LCP in his pocket and he said his hand went right to it. He wouldn't have had time to wrestle some big gun out of the console if he had needed to put a couple rounds through the door.

Make sure you keep whatever you buy where you can get to it in a split second..... It may save your life.
