Slick Trick ?

Postby Hayes » Thu Oct 29, 2009 6:58 pm

I have seen some of the post about how much people like the slick tricks and how they fly like field points. So I went out and got me a pack. I have been shooting Rage but I would prefer to shoot a fixed blade. I am having trouble getting mine to fly like the field points. I have paper tuned and wb tuned my bow and it is shooting bullet hole with field points. It shoots the rage good. But it seems to be very inconsistant with the slick tricks. Anyone else had this problem?

I i think it may have been an arrow problem I been shooting all afternoon and half the night. I had 2 arrows that weighed 4.5 grams more than the others, for what reason I dont know.

Thunderheads always fly True and no worries when they hit.

I do not dee any reason to switch from Rage to anything else. I aint never seen a deer live thru a shot thru the rib cage with one. Shoot it and replace the blades. Dead deer every time.

Well......If ya wanna get testy about it! Why ya shootin em in tha daggum shoulder anyways? The Rage is gonna recover WAY more poorly shot deer than any fixed blade ever thought of, PERIOD.

I shoot the Slick Tricks. Sounds to me like you have a tuning problem with the bow or like you said above maybe an arrow problem. I took off my field points and put on the slick tricks and they were dead nuts on out to 60 yards. No adjustments needed whatsoever. Bad little broadhead.

This is what a rage did on the exit in the shoulder. A quartering away shot and the arrow didn't pass through but was basically just under the hide. Deer didn't go far before crash.
Like I said earlier in the week, if you shoot em in the right place a field point will kill them.

I used this one pack of Rage just for the novelty of the big entry holes. They have performed well, but IMO there are many things that CAN go wrong with them....so I am on my way to Van's to get me some Slicktricks....since crookedup gonna be stingy with a brother.

Mine fly perfectly. I can shoot a broadhead and then shoot a field point and they will be right beside each other.
