Garden & Gun, Hoover's Sauce, and John Mark Jordan

Postby matador1 » Tue Sep 15, 2009 8:36 pm

As much as Hoovers gets discussed here, I know this is a member. Somebody wrote into Garden and Gun magazinie this month and told them about Hoover Sauce. HAs to be someone from here, it was signed John Mark Jordan.

BTW, if you want a good read, pick up Garden aand Gun. Kind of a high end huting outdoors mag. Mostly fromthe Carolinas but always has cool articles about different places in the south.

I've been a subscriber since the second or third magazine came out. G&G has great articles about travelling throughout the south, good food and drink, and great writing. Just check out a list of the contributing writers.

Good magazine. It is like Field and Stream was a little tipsy and had a one night stand with Southern Living

I was in Bham two weeks ago on business and stayed at the Wynfrey Hotel.
There was a G&G mag in the room. After a five finger discount and time to look it over, I believe that we are going to subscribe to it at our house.
Cool magazine.

There are some good recipes in there from time to time. There was a duck gumbo recipe in one of the editions last fall from a chef in New Orleans. I cooked it after duck season and it was one of the best gumbo recipes I've ever tried.

My mother provided me with a subscription as a Father's Day gift - definitely will renew it every year.
