ammuntion accountability Bill

Postby mississippi_duc_htr » Wed Dec 03, 2008 8:58 pm

This died in congress in Mississippi but just goes to show you what their thinking... everybody need to keep a ear to the ground... I never even heard of this bill .... Saw a post on a bowfishing website... I f you have friends who live in any of these states you need to foward this on and tell them to keep their nose in the wind for more state congressional bills like this in the future....

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana)
requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacturer in a data base of
all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is
coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011.
(Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every

round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona,
California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland,
Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island,
South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation
and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

One of those is from my hometown!! Thanks for the alert. We have some strong contacts down in Jackson that keep us abreast of wild stuff like this but I never saw this one coming!! Do you happen to know MS DWFP position on this? Sometimes illogical positions are caused by illogical politics.I'm gonna have to do some research on this. Again- thanks for the alert. Maybe we can stay on top of this before something stupid gets passed.

The anti gun folks know they will never be able to get the guns out of the hands of citizens. So they are going on an alternate route. Force ammo companies to encode the bullets and then force them to keep a database of all who buy it.. That is going to drive the price of ammo way up so that many sportsman won't be able to buy it. They are trying to hide it under the guise of being able to solve crimes by tracking the bullet back to an owner..

Yeah, right. This'll work. What a stupid idea! Don't these "law makers" know that criminals steal the guns to commit the crimes, so it only makes sense that they will steal the ammo as well? How do I contact my legislator, senator, and congressman?

WHAT A BUNCH OF DUMB@$$ES!!!!!!! (No wonder we elect criminals to public office - - - - that way we can keep an eye on them.)
Nobody owes you anything.
