Re: A Question for Members
Subject because I can key in to only what I am interested in. Although you can pick out which members hunt similar type of areas and setups that you do. The entire site is a great location for general feedback and info, I never knew this site was here till recently. In the past these discussions were done at coffee shops, hunting supply stores, and among close nit hunting buddies. I have been duck hunting a long time(killed my first duck in 1972) and all my old buddies have gotten accustomed to fat boy hunting.I still like to wallow in the mud to kill them if that's what it takes. It's good to know there is a place to talk duck hunting!

Re: A Question for Members
80% of the time because of subject, 20% of the time because the author is someone I know.
Are we gonna get wet?
Re: A Question for Members
w/out a doubt, both direct whether i click on a thread or not...
there are people i just don't want to read anything they type, be it differences in spiritual, political, economical or personal values....it's just not worth my time to read it, so i avoid their threads.
i'm quite certain that i am the above for many viewers here, and that's ok. we all need'int not agree.
there are people on here that i absolutely do not want to miss anything they type. they are either funny as all get out, they are extremely dedicated to something or good at it, they tell a story in their posts, etc etc.
so, for me, it's both.....but, now that i look at it, who starts the subject has a good deal to do w/ things.
i mean, take:
dukbum - now, i know if i type on a thread of his, i'm not going to know what he said, what the thread was about, and i'm going to have a headache afterwords trying to piece all that ebonics into coherency
bigwater - same really as the above, but w/out a doubt one of the funniest suckers here
GH22 - can 'little, bald man' be portrayed via the internet any more???
champcaller - queer dude, likes to duck hunt
see? and these are just a few of the many examples

Re: A Question for Members
Subject for me 95% of the time.. I don't really look at the author all that much.
I like a good debate so even those that I don't agree with I will read. I don't think you can learn as much if you don't open your self up to being challenged..
That is why I alway try to read Bum's post.. It is a challenge...

Re: A Question for Members
Mostly look for subject content, but when there is good heated debate or argument in progress, I will read due to author to see who gets in the last word.

Re: A Question for Members
Similar to what Gator says I mostly look at authors, but if a title catches my attention I will take a look at it as well.
