Tracking a GPS Device

Postby DuckDeke » Mon Jul 14, 2008 10:39 am

Is there a way to track a GPS device's current location or a way to send a kill signal to it? My wife was in Jacksonville last weekend and left the Tom Tom in the console of the car  . Some Obama supporter broke in and took it  . I figure it's a lost cause but was wondering....is there a way to get a fix on the current location of the device? Or even a way to send a kill signal to it to wipe out any personal info. I have stored in there? I have asked Tom Tom tech support but haven't heard anything back yet... Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Only way is if the unit has a transmitter, and most of these units are receiver only. LoJack is a transmitter, standard gps units are receivers. Sorry for your loss, wife just got Nuvi so I know how much it hurt.
