Hey lowbar, thanks a lot for sharing that. Could you please try to estimate how much ag land you saw in the protected area that had water on it? I'm talking about north of the structure and west of the Whittington canal.

Thanks.

Corp of Engineers said 240,000 acres in the delta area. They also said another 100,000 acres will be flooded by the time river crest at 51 feet. From the Vicksburg Evening post today.

They don't call it a flood plain for nothing.

I assume from these pics that Delta Wildlife, which includes Greasy Bayou and Parker Gary Hunting camps, is under water. Would that be true?

There was a small article in the North MS Daily Journal on Sunday about the river flooding. This was the first time that the flood had been mentioned in this paper. I don't have any idea why this is not getting more attention from the media, if I didn't read this forum I wouldn't know anything about this.

does anyone have any idea just a ballpark figure as to the following:

how long before the water returns to normal levels?

any idea what kind $$$$ damage were talking about here? whether it be damage to personal property or what about the farms in that area.. what kinda losses will they experience? once the water recedes how long till the farmers will be able to plant?

dam thats a lot of water..

I don't think Greasy's camp house is under water yet. Da boss man is a member and said Little Sunflower landside had to be at 94 if I recall to inundate their camp house and it's about 91 now. What about Willow Break? Any of it damaged?
