Better Beer in MS

Postby edub20 » Mon Jul 16, 2007 11:30 am

Who wants to help bring a better selection of beer into our great state? We as Mississippians are limited by our 5% alcohol by weight law. This law keeps us from having the vast selection of beer that our neighboring states have.

If you would like to join our efforts to banish this law please visit

I've seen some beer over 6% in MS, but they are few and far between.

It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Yeah, thats definatly not legal in this state! those guys would be facing some serious fines... thats why we are trying to get the the 5%ABW law lifted. Its not that we're a bunch of drunks, we just love the taste of a good craft beer vs. the bland taste of Bud light, Miller light, and others

a different approach might be contacting the brewers of beers you would like to see in MS

I think you would have greater success asking them to brew a batch with lower alcohol content that is allowed in MS than you would changing state laws

either way I am all for it, MS selection is slim
