I appears to me, and I could be bad wrong, that the new fine for illegally hunting over bait will be $500.
Now, this all hinges on if hunting over bait will become legal or not and what the stipulations will be. But from reading the bill, I get that the fine for hunting over bait illegally will be a smooth five hundred.
I'm sure we will find out at the next District meeting.

I think it's $141 in Quitman. State law only allows the fine to be $25-100 on any class 3 game violation; the county chooses a price in that range and adds court costs and assessments to it. Many counties will charge you $25 plus court costs, especially when the judge feels game laws are unimportant. I thank God every day for having a judge that is concerned enough to put the hammer down.
Panola probably charged more like $75 plus court costs.
So if the new fine is $500, you will end up paying $600+ by the time it's done.
