How far can you go only training by yourself? There are some folks around here that have started doing some training in the mornings and they have invited me to come. I am excited about going because I do not have anybody to train with me at all.
But, that got me to thinking. How far can you go always training by yourself?

gator nailed it. Awesome post. Im sure he'll freak out on someone soon, but today he's da man.
I have people every summer that 'want' to train with me. Rare is the person that makes it 3 weeks. Im gonna do what my dogs need that day, I know before I ever load a dog up what Im going to do. I run set ups on the weekend with my group, and as the summer progresses, couple times a week with part of my group. But early summer, Im training, not testing. And its not as much fun as most people think I ought to be doing. But my time is too valuable to do something I don't need with my dogs... My dogs will get what I think they need. It might be I change your test for them, or it might be I go train myself instead of with you, or I do something after the fact, but I dont get thru without my dogs getting what we left for.
I have equipment. i also hire throwers/helpers most of the time during the week when im doing field work. Like I said, I always have a plan, and whatever it takes to make my plan happen, is what i do. Thats lost on most people. Training smart is better than training hard. travis
