Ding Dong a Turkeys dead

Postby DUCKAHOLIC » Fri Mar 30, 2007 8:09 am

Great hunt this morning. Had four hammering, they all started around 6:15 and were all roosted within 40 yrds of each other. I got in there around 5:30 I knew about where they were and wanted to get close. Well when the first one sounded off I was within 40 yrds, I just dropped to the ground. All four birds gobbled at everything that made a noise, they stayed in the trees till 7:10. They were gobbling so hard it was shakin my soul. When they pitched they all went together just over the top of the hill from where I was. I know there is a huge gobbler in there and he had to be the one that was triple gobbling everytime I made a sound. At 7:20 I poured it on and was cutting as loud and hard as I could, and two broke over the hill and came to daddy. After the shot ole big boy was still on the hill hammering away. Gonna take the little brother in the morning and let him give it a try.

9 inch beard, 3/4 spurs, 17 lbs.
