Take you a pie pan, put @ 1 1/2 cup or so of corn meal in it, mix in enough water to dampen it all. NOT floating, Not even to a cornbread consistency, but enough water to just dampen all of it. Leave that out and they will be gone very soon.

I'm pretty sure it's not legal, but from the people I've heard that tried it, it is holy death on fire ants. If you can get a hold to some Centric, about 1 ounce to the acre, will WEAR THEM OUT.
