I read in one of my wife's Southern Living magazines last year of a remedy for fire ants which was submitted from a reader. It said to take a shovel and take a portion of mound A (with ants) and place on Mound B, then take portion of mound B (with mound B ants) and place on mound A. Well, now I've confused you, right? Actually, I had 3 mounds in my yard and took A to B, B to C, C to A. The premise here is cannibilization and it worked! Did this in June and never saw another mound in my backyard rest of the summer. Go figure...
Son, be sure to check the oil. The gas will take care of itself. George Carter - Circa 1965
