Looking for info on "Golden Millet"
From my understanding, it was developed in Arkansas as 5 Oaks Golden Grass. It is a hybrid millet, crossed between barnyard grass and Japanese millet. I'm pretty certain Agriliance owns the rights to it and sells it. Agriliance contacted me last year wanting the MDWFP to purchase some to plant on our WMAs. They also were going to send me a couple of bags to be used for demonstration plots on one of our waterfowl WMAs. I never did receive it, so I can not speak first hand on its performance. From the people I've spoken to who has planted it, they did not give rave reviews. Maybe someone on hear has planted it and will share their experience with it.
