I just found out that i am going to have the hunting rights, to land in Bovina on the Big Black, the guy says there is a lake on it and that the timber is flooded by the river, does anyone hunt ducks close to that area? I am going to go scout it and see as the season gets closer, but i would like to know if ducks frequent this area? Thankyou for any help.

The BIg Black River does flood a lot during duck season around bovina. I have heard of people killing a lot of ducks on the big black when it does flood though. Good Luck.

Its a hit or miss type of thing. When its right there are ducks, I got a buddy that has permission to hunt one of those old oxbows and he a few good hunts up there last year.

Delta Dawg, you have hunted there, thats basically the same area as your uncle camp. Chances are this guy is right on the other side of the road from there.

I don't know about ducks, but the deer hunting in this area is great . The big black produces some really massive antler growth if the deer is given the time to grow them.

FullChoke,
One of my Dad's friends has rights to it but his inlaws have been hunting it and not letting them have access so they have taken them to court and my dads friend will end up with at least half if not more. and he doesnt hunt so he is going to give me the key and permission to hunt there. I am in college at MC in clinton so i hope it will have ducks so i can hunt there in the mornings before class.
What kind of land did you use to hunt?

Ditto on the freeze - if we get a hard freeze go to the big black
