Actually, on the advice of a well respected trainer, I was told to use the collar on him for the "here" command on low settings only. He understood the command, was just blatantly refusing it. At the present, that's the only thing I'm going to use it for at this time. He was barely sensing the pressure and would only lightly shake his head, but he got the message. I am well aware of the dangers of ruining a dog with the collar, thus I consulted with a reputable training for guidance.

You may have done this, but most would recommend having the dog wear the collar inactivated for a couple of weeks before using it on the dog.
