Don't use salt until the very end, as too much salt will kill the bugs. I purge and change the water about four times with just fresh water. Then I cover with the bugs with a layer of salt, then cover with water, let sit for about 5 minutes, drain and cook. The salt is supposed to make the bugs poop for the last time so you have less stuff to deal with.

Have a blast at the bachelor party, if things don't work out, call us we'll be happy to take your wife and father in law's boat off your hands!
Just kidding, good luck and have fun.

My first question is why would anyone get married during turkey season?

On the crawfish, just let the live crawfish soak in salt water for about thirty minutes before you cook them to purge them. We use crab boil to boil them in (both liquid and bags) and then dump then into a cooler and liberally coat them with Tony Chacherie's. Close the cooler and let them steam fora little while. This will help them soak us the Tony's. You can boil them with corn and potatoes or boil them separately. Sounds like y'all have a fine day planned.
