Hammer,

Since you are now opposed to Cap and Trade legislation, hate Al Gore, and have backed off of your warming trend theory, can you please go back to pages 1-10 on this thread and tell me what happened to change your mind on these issues. You started this thread as a guru on the subject, calling all who disagreed "uninformed". I only read the first ten pages or so, and then the last five or so, but your stance has drastically changed. Not on the basis of the argument, but certainly on other issues concerning who is right, what to do to fix it, and what problems we are currently facing. I don't mean to jab, but the reason most people do not believe in this and similar theories, is because people like you claim they know everything about the subject. Then, over the course of say, two years, the things you were so sure about have changed. I am no scientist, and you appear to be an educated person, but I hope you now see why we "uninformed" people are so skeptical of Global Warming/Climate Change/Ozone Hole experts. Now, if you still do not believe that the science is out on what effect man is having, what changes might occur, what we can do to stop or slow it, and how we get there, then you are uninformed.

No wonder all the "science" supported the theory of global warming. They were cooking the books.

people are quick to knock big business, the employers, tax payers, service providers, but dont seem so quick to knock the big rich and world elites who have made major gains in our system (george soros - why isnt this guy probed like Palin) all of whom are liberal democrat or world socialist, United Nations or some neutral appeaser.

why are the current american government leaders (obama, pelosi, reid) pushing the legislation for cap and trade, health care, stimulis and pork spending all so urgently? especially during an economic crisis and record federal debt level breaking. literally to save the planet? are you serious? Improving the energy situation must take more time to avoid major upheavels in working peoples lives here at home in america. The leaders and ilk pushing current radical legislation are not interested.

it is clear our "leaders" are aligned with the world order people in pushing "global warming". They call it climate change now. Climates have always changed.

There are many kinds of truth. Al Gore was hit by an inconvenient one yesterday.

The former vice president, who became an unlikely figurehead for the green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," became entangled in a new climate change row.

Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.

In his speech, Gore told the conference: "These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr. [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years."

However, the climatologist whose work Gore was relying upon dropped the former vice president in the water with an icy blast.

"It's unclear to me how this figure was arrived at," Dr. Maslowski said. "I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this."

Gore's office later admitted that the 75 percent figure was one used by Dr. Maslowski as a "ballpark figure" several years ago in a conversation with Gore.

The embarrassing error cast another shadow over the conference after the controversy over the hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit, which appeared to suggest that scientists had manipulated data to strengthen their argument that human activities were causing global warming.

Howdy Gents:

Over the preceding 60+ pages we have established that (a) I believe there is too much C02 in the atmosphere irregardless of its impact on climate (b) many of you believe that Al Gore and the environmental whackos have dreamed it all up in an attempt to establish a new world order (c) some of you believe that the hole in the ozone was a scam (d) nobody can explain why the Mississippi Delta duck migration is a shadow of its former self and (e) that this thread is the all time longest thread in Duck South/MS Ducks history. All that and $25 will buy you a box of steel shot to shoot at ducks if you havent quit the sport and are lucky enough to still have ducks migrating to your duck hole. For anybody that is interested in hearing what EPA has to say on the subject, check out this webinar:

EPA to Host Webinar: Climate Science 101 - Understanding the Science Behind Climate Change on May 25, 2010 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. EDT

This webinar will provide participants with an understanding of the basics of climate science. Jason Samenow, Climate Science Analyst, U.S. EPA's Office of Air and Radiation will discuss major sources of greenhouse gases (GHGs); how GHGs contribute to changes in temperature, precipitation and frequency of extreme weather events; the difference between climate and weather; climate change mitigation and adaptation; global climate models and how they support our understanding of climate change; and other sources of information that contribute to our understanding of climate change. This workshop is designed as a pre-workshop for the EPA Regional Science Workshop: Resilient Water Management Strategies for a Changing Climate and is open to the public. To register, visit: https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/630592275.

For the record, my position that the US should tax C02 emissions and use the tax proceeds to subsidize solar, wind, biomass and nuclear remains unchanged. Good for the environment , good for the economy, good for national security. Much more efficient and with far less corruption than cap and trade.
